We are delighted to announce our partnering with Health and Safety Matters magazine to host a free digital conference on PPE.
The conference will be immediately followed by a ceremony for the Safety & Health Excellence Awards. This will all take place on 28 April 2021 and you can register to attend for free with all attendees receiving CPD. The SHE Awards shortlist was announced last year but the ceremony was postponed due to COVID-19 but now the winners will be revealed in a virtual ceremony that will feature a comedy set from impressionist Alistair McGowan. You can view the shortlist for the awards at

The HSM/BSIF PPE Conference will examine the role that PPE plays in effective safety and health management. It will look at PPE applications – Head to Toe – where it is used to protect against the range of hazards faced by wearers. COVID-19 highlighted shortcomings in PPE supply and PPE quality and this digital conference seeks to identify what good PPE looks like and how it can be specified, sourced and supplied effectively, to keep users safe and well while they are at work.

The Conference will hear from senior staff members of the regulators, the Health and Safety Executive, the Office for Product Safety and Standards and Trading Standards as well updates from BSIF and contributions from the BSIF Special Interest Groups across the PPE product applications. Delegates will also be able to network with each other in the networking lounge and see videos, download key information and live chat with the BSIF and sponsors in the Awards Sponsors Area.

Topics that will be covered during the digital conference include:
•    PPE Market Surveillance
•    The Registered Safety Supplier Scheme
•    RPE Fit Testing and Fit2Fit
•    UK PPE Conformity Assessment
•    Safety Footwear
•    Eye and Face
•    Head and Hearing
•    Hand Protection
•    Height Safety
•    Respiratory Protection
•    Protective Clothing
•    Test and Certification

The HSM/BSIF PPE Conference takes place on 28 April 2021 and attendees will receive seven CPD hours. The conference will conclude with a comedy set from impressionist Alistair McGowan who will then announce the winners of the Safety & Health Excellence Awards.
